What does a Gold Class Facilitator do?
As a Gold Class Facilitator, you visit local schools and deliver short, hands-on sessions that bring the gold industry to life for students. GIG handles all the logistics, resources, and preparation — you bring your experience and your story.
• Deliver Gold Class Sessions: Visit schools in WA to run engaging, curriculum-linked STEM sessions for students
• Share your career story: Speak to students about your role, your pathway, and what a career in gold really looks like
• Inspire the next generation: Help students see what’s possible — a career path they might have never considered
What you get out of it
- 01 Flexible around your life Run sessions on your off swing, or use your employer's volunteer leave. You choose how often and when — there is no minimum commitment.
- 02 Full training provided A 1.5-hour training session is all it takes. GIG provides all your resources, session materials, and ongoing support. No teaching background required.
- 03 Employer support in place All GIG member companies have some form of support for facilitators — whether that is volunteer hours, rostered time, or flexible scheduling. Check with your HR team.
- 04 A Working with Children Check sorted for you A WWC Check is all that is required. GIG's National Education Lead will endorse your application, and your employer will most likely reimburse the cost.
